PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system in which a CATV LAN can make communication with an optional band and to provide an optical node device. SOLUTION: A second optical fiber cable 21 being a bypass transmission line of a data signal is provided between a central device 22 and an optical node device 30. Further, the optical node device 30 is provided with a photoelectric converter 32 corresponding to the second optical fiber cable 21, an Ethernet (R) communication device 36, and a mixer 37 for mixing a signal to a coaxial cable 25. Thus, a bypass exclusively for the data signal is formed between the central device 22 and consumers 40. Through the bypass, the signal can be transmitted in both directions at an optional free band by means of frequency multiplexing. Particularly the consumer 40 transmits an incoming signal through an optional free band in an outgoing signal band (TV band). Since the incoming band having conventionally been narrow can be extended, the data transmission efficiency in the incoming direction can be enhanced. |
