PURPOSE: To freely emit color light whenever desired and to improve color and decorative properties. CONSTITUTION: Phosphor 16 which reacts on ultraviolet rays to emit color light and is transparent, is provided on a character plate 5 having translucency and an ultraviolet rays emitting element 13 is provided at the bottom of the plate 5. When the element 13 is caused to emit light, the phosphor 16 provided on the plate 5 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to cause the phosphor 16 to emit color light. Thus, the element 13 is turned on whenever desired to freely cause the phosphor 16 to emit color light, and color and decorative properties are improved.
