PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management system and method for allowing the relatively easy management of a network environment composed of a plurality of network equipment and enabling the unified management including the network equipment and these operating environment. SOLUTION: The management system, which is one appearance of this invention, has a relay device connected to the network, a plurality of management- object devices connected to the relay device, a monitoring device for monitoring the overall management-object devices including themselves and their installation area environment, and a manager for managing the management-object devices based on their equipment identifiers and managing the monitoring device.
