PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory device of which the power consumption is reduced and the data processing speed is incleased by shortening an idle time for optional information processing equipment. SOLUTION: A command identification part 1a of a host interface 1 identifies a command from a host H and judges whether or not the operation of a flash memory control part 2 is required for a response to the command for every command. Thus, a clock control part 5 activates a clock generation part 4 only when inputting to the host interface 1 the command requiring the operation of the flash memory control part 2 for the response.
