PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency amplifier circuit and a drive method of the high frequency amplifier circuit that can has excellent controllability at a low power output and provide a generated heat to the amplifier circuit by a power loss of a degree not causing condensation due to excess cooling by a cooling system at the low power output while keeping a merit of a high efficiency. SOLUTION: The high frequency amplifier circuit is configured to comprise a variable peak and variable width pulse wave generating circuit 11 that receives a pulse width control signal and a pulse peak control signal and generates a pulsed wave (square wave) with an optional pulse height and an optional pulse width and a power amplifier circuit 12 driven by the square wave.
