PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for press working by which a plate- like heat sink (plate-inserted fins) can be manufactured through one process without requiring a number of facilities. SOLUTION: The device for press working is provided with a press which forms a plate having a hole section by forward press working, and a bar-fixing section which is integrally attached to the vertically moving driving section of the press and press-fits at least one bar in the hole section of the plate by moving in the vertical direction at the time of cutting out the formed plate.
