PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily insert conductors into slots and reduce welding defects when a stator of a rotating electric machine is made by a method wherein, after conductors are inserted into the slots, ends of the inserted conductors are welded with each other. SOLUTION: Conductors 18 are inserted into slots from one side ends of the slots in the direction along an axis of a rotating electric machine. Insulation members 16 are provided on the inner surfaces of the slots and the conductors 18 are guided by protruding stripes 22 formed on the insulation members 16 to protrude from the other side ends of the slots. As the conductors 18 are guided by the protruding stripes 22, the positions of the tips of the protruding conductors 18 are fixed and hence the conductors 18 can be bent into prescribed shapes in a process afterwards. By giving the prescribed shapes to the adjacent conductors to be welded with each other, gaps and discrepancies between the conductors can be suppressed and welding defects can be reduced.
