<p>The invention relates to a method of producing decorative figures and pinatas made from recycled card and paper using a high-vacuum chamber. Said chamber comprises a metallic tank (1) which is fitted with (i) a pressure-measuring device (2), (ii) an exhaust valve (3) and (iii) a stopcock (4) which is used to release the water extracted during the process. Said tank is connected to a vacuum pump (6) by means of a tube or hose (7) and an air filter (8). The inventive method involves the use of different-shaped fibreglass or perforated metal moulds (5) which are screwed to metal covers (9) and held in place by metallic straps (10). Moreover, said moulds are provided with a rubber gasket (11) to prevent air leaks. The method of producing said decorative figures consists in: fixing the mould (5) to the vacuum chamber; locking said mould in position with the band or strap (10), thereby applying pressure to the cover (9) and closing off the exhaust valve and stopcock; switching on the vacuum pump and rubbing the mould with a release product or covering same with a piece of moist, permeable cloth, thereby fixing the paste to said surface. Subsequently, the vacuum is applied thereto, with a piece of plastic attached to the paste in order to stimulate the suction effect. Once the figure has been obtained, the plastic is removed, the cloth is taken off and a matched mould, made from a perforated material, is put in place, opening the exhaust valve and stopcock. The subsequent stage involves the drying of the figures in a kiln and the assembly and decoration thereof.</p> |
