An arrangement for tempering thermoplastic blanks, comprises a heat radiating unit which has electrical connections for energy supply, and which is held in a carrier. A reflector (22) is located opposite the heat radiating unit, and consists of a plate type middle section (65) and at least two plate type side sections (60,67). The side sections are at an angle of 20-40 degrees to the central section. The reflector has a coating which either increases or decreases wavelengths and the coating is located near the middle section.
