<p>A food disposal system for installation on a drain (12) of a commercial kitchen sink (10) enables segregation of oil/grease from effluent flows from the drain. A housing (32) collects effluents flows containing water, oil/grease, and solids from the drain (12), and a macerating pump (18) has an inlet (19) connected to an opening of the housing that is other than downwardly directed and an outlet connected to a sanitary drain (28). A greasy water outlet extends to an oil/grease separator (32) from an outlet on the housing above the macerating pump inlet (19), and a hot water backflush source enables hot water to flow into the housing.</p> |
