Pearl has decorative inlay

A decorative ornament (4), a precious or semi-precious stone etc., held by a precious metal setting (14), is accommodated in a matching indent (6) at the surface of a pearl (2). The unit (4,14) is secured with a small screw (20) which is inserted into a threaded bore (10) in the pearl (2). This kind of decoration is especially useful for a pearl (2) which has a small area on its surface not covered by mother of pearl.
