PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing a soil modifier which is prepared by recycling the basic steelmaking slag and neutralizes the acidified soil within a short period and shows the lasting soil neutralizing effect. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing 20-50 wt% of steelmaking slag, 20-50 wt% of clay and 15-60 wt% of a fibrous organic material; forming the mixture into the shape with a size of 1-2 mm; and calcining the formed one at a temperature of 400-600 deg.C for 0.5-1 hr. Preferably the fibrous organic material comprises rice straw, a polyethylene tube, wood chip and coconut shell fiber; and has a carbonization yield of 50 wt% or less or is burned completely at a temperature above 400 deg.C under the oxidation condition. |
