PURPOSE: A method for producing a sustained release tablet using Eudragit S100 of a metacylic acid copolymer as a sustained release matrix agent, mono basic calcium phosphate as a matrix-forming additive and L-glutamine as a release controller is provided. Whereby, the tablet minimizes irritation to the gastric mucosa membrane and optimizes release of a drug. CONSTITUTION: The sustained release tablet containing dried ferrous sulfate is characterized in that it comprises Eudragit S100 of a metacylic acid copolymer, mono basic calcium phosphate and L-glutamine, wherein the Eudragit S100 is used as a matrix agent, the mono basic calcium phosphate as a matrix-forming additive and the L-glutamine as a gastrointestinal mucosa tissue protecting agent and a release controlling agent. The mixing ratio of dried ferrous sulfate to L-glutamine is 1:0.07 to 0.32, the mixing ratio between dried ferrous sulfate, Eudragit S100 and mono basic calcium phosphate is 1:0.04 to 0.20:0.07 to 0.60.
