PURPOSE: A knitted pile fabric which is knitted to grasp a sliver pile fabric with a base pile for knitting a ground texture and another base pile so as not to deviate the sliver pile from the base pile is provided. Therefore, the sliver knitting machine produces high quality sliver knitted pile fabric having excellent shrinkage resistance. CONSTITUTION: The sliver knitting machine contains a clearing cam(1), stitch cam(2), clearing cam(3) and stitch cam(4) in sequence, wherein an auxiliary butt(6) different in height is formed on the underside of a main butt(5) of a stitching needle(N1 to N4), the clearing cam(1) is an upper and lower operation type. An auxiliary clearing cam(A1 to A4) which is selectively in contact with the auxiliary butt(6) of the stitching needle is selectively disposed at the lower part of the clearing cam, a combination cam(B1 to B4) which is selectively in contact with the auxiliary butt of the stitching needle is disposed at the lower part of the clearing cam and stitch cam.
