The invention relates to a flap valve for controlling a gas flow. Said valve comprises an elastically deformable tube (11) which guides the gas flow, and a valve flap (12) which is arranged in the tube (11) and which can be adjusted between an open and a closed position, also comprising a drivable valve shaft (13) which adjusts the valve flap (12) being arranged at an acute angle ( alpha ) on the valve tube axis (111). The valve flap (12) is secured on said valve shaft (13) in such a manner the normal of the flap (nk) forms an acute angle with the valve tube axis (111) when in the closed position. The aim of the invention is to create a valve flap with only minimal leakage when in the closed position and to ensure a low opening torque whereby the outer contour of the valve flap (12) forms an approximately oval shape.
