System whereby a shopper or service user connects to a dynamic database stored in a server and receives a waiting ticket number corresponding to a shopping, appointment or service time. The server includes software for determining the approximate wait time based on number of people in the queue, customer profiles, time, day, season, etc. The user or shopper then receives an e-mail or text message informing them at what time their turn will be. The system includes a method for handling customers who miss their appointment times.
