PURPOSE: A method for preventing a reverse rotation start of an engine is provided to prevent the engine fail by detecting a forward rotation and a reverse rotation of the engine. CONSTITUTION: It is determined whether a CAS signal is inputted(110). If the CAS signal is inputted, an engine start condition is checked(120). Fuel is injected into an engine and an ignition coil is ignited when the engine start condition is achieved(130,140). Then, it is determined whether an engine R.P.M number is zero(150). If the engine R.P.M number is zero, an air cylinder is checked(160). Then, fuel is again injected and the ignition coil is again ignited(170,180). After that, it is determined whether the engine is stopped(190). If the engine is stopped, a control flow is finished.
