IN-HOME DIGITAL NETWORK AND METHOD FOR ASSIGNING WIRELESS TERMINALS TO BASE STATION

PURPOSE: An in-home digital network and a method for assigning wireless terminals to a base station are provided to dynamically assign mobile terminals to one of a plurality of base stations in the in-home digital network by being executed autonomously in a distributed manner at each base station. CONSTITUTION: Base stations(B1-Bm) measure connection strengths between the base stations(B1-Bm) and terminals(E1,En) located in their ranges, and communicate the measured values obtained in a broadcast to all the other base stations. All the base stations(B1-Bm) then calculate that the terminals(E1,En) are assigned to the base stations(B1-Bm) on the basis of global information obtained using a predetermined algorithm. If the newly calculated assignment has changed relative to a previous existing assignment, a base station sends a handover command to all the base stations. The handover command then triggers a corresponding take-over action.
