PURPOSE: A device for remotely controlling a terminal and a method thereof are provided to remotely maintain and manage the terminal using the Internet or LAN(Local Area Network). CONSTITUTION: A remote computer(30) is connected to a terminal(10) through an RS232C cable(20). Another remote computer(50) is connected to the remote computer(30) through a network(40), to remotely control the terminal(10). The remote computer(30) transceives a terminal type packet and Internet type packet with the another computer(50), while transceiving a terminal type packet with the terminal(10). The packet includes a command code and a body, wherein the command code is for discriminating whether to be a memory access, an air message, or the contents of a monitor, and the body loads response information corresponding to a request command and the request.
