Transfer of mass laboratory liquid samples involves moving to test instrument using one-trip tape-mounted transfer tool

In a laboratory analysis process, a mass series of fluid samples are presented for analysis each in a quantity of less than one microlitre by miniature transfer tools. Following use, each transfer tool (3) is especially replaced by a fresh unused transfer tool. After use, each transfer tool (3) is disposed and not re-used. The transfer tools are slotted pick-up tabs extending sideways at regular intervals from the edges of a reel of flat foil. The reel has perforations for a tracked drive and tear-off lines (12) at regular intervals. The foil may be made of steel, plastic, ceramic, glass or a mixture of these.
