The invention relates to a method for precisely positioning an object (4), to be mounted or positioned on a target (6), in particular for mounting electronic components, whereby positions of the object (4) and target (6) are determined and processed, by means of an image capture device (10) and an image processing device, and said object (4) is positioned on the target (6) by means of a handling device (12). The method is characterized in that, during the positioning of the object (4), said object (4) as well as the target (6) are both simultaneously detected with the image capture device (12), through a transparent zone (16) of the handling device (12) and the object (4) is led to the target (6) by means of said handling device (12) by carrying out a set/actual comparison between the object (4) and target (6) positions.
