Automobile internal combustion engine operating method with switching between two operating modes for fuel injection during compression phase or suction phase

The engine operating method has the fuel injected into the engine during the compression phase in one engine operating mode and during the suction phase in a second engine operating mode, with switching between the operating modes during running of the engine and recycling of the engine exhaust gas for mixing with the air-fuel mixture. The beginning of the fuel injection during the second operating mode is determined in dependence on the exhaust gas feedback rate (AGR) and the fuel injection pressure (pr). Independent claims are also included for: a microprocessor computer program for operation of the IC engine; a control device for the IC engine; and an IC engine.
