PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for testing a fuel gauge are provided to achieve improved reliability through the execution of test procedures similar to the actual vehicle condition. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a data collecting unit(100) for converting the data regarding the level of the oil existing in the vehicle tank measured from an actual vehicle into test data; a testing unit(200) for executing a fuel gauge testing operation in accordance with the condition set by the data collecting unit; a first jig(300) and a second jig(400) which operate by the control of the testing unit and drive a fuel gauge arm in the condition equal to the actual vehicle condition; and an image processing unit(500) for reading the angle of the fuel gauge arm driven by the first and second jigs and processing the read images into data.
