ELECTRON GUN FOR COLOR CATHODE RAY TUBE

PURPOSE: An electron gun for a color CRT is provided to remove coma aberration and achieve improved focus performance and resolution. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for a color CRT, comprises a cathode for emitting thermal electrons; first and second electrodes for controlling the thermal electrons emitted from the cathode; a third electrode formed in a tube axis direction so as to form a main static focus lens for focusing electron beams to a phosphor screen; a fourth electrode; a focus electrode(30) and an anode electrode for forming a main lens for focusing electron beams to a screen; and a shield cup. The focus electrode includes an aperture electrode(30a) and an inner electrode(30b). The anode electrode includes an aperture electrode and an inner electrode. The aperture electrodes of the focus electrode and the anode electrode, have same shape, and the inner electrodes of the focus electrode and the anode electrode have different shape. The side electron beam passing hole of the inner electrode of the focus electrode has an inside(30c) with a shape same with the shape of the inside of the side electron beam passing hole of the inner electrode of the anode electrode. The side electron beam passing hole of the inner electrode of the focus electrode has an outside(30d) with a shape different from the shape of the outside of the side electron beam passing hole of the inner electrode of the anode electrode.
