786,935. Brushes for dynamo-electric machines. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP HOLLANDSE SIGNAALAPPARATEN. Jan. 2, 1956, No. 64/56. Class 35. Brush-bounce is prevented by arranging the brush holder 107 at an angle to the rotating surface 114 but in the same plane as the rotor axis or a parallel plane. The brush section may be square or hexagonal as indicated at 117, 118 or 119. Spring-pressure adjustment is by a plunger 104 locked in position by a screw 101. A modification is described in which the brush is guided only by the upper surfaces of the brush-holder, and is biased against these surfaces by making the spring off-set. In machines with one direction of motion only, the brush may also be tilted in the direction of rotation in conventional manner. |
