CALIBRATION APPARATUS AND CALIBRATION METHOD FOR REAL TIME HEIGHT DATA EXTRACTION

PURPOSE: A calibration apparatus and a calibration method are provided to achieve improved accuracy of data by accurately calculating measurement errors caused due to the image signal distortion of the camera. CONSTITUTION: A calibration apparatus comprises a flat plate(8) having both side surfaces coupled to a hanger of a support(7); a transfer unit for moving the flat plate in a vertical direction by being driven by a motor(4) which has an encoder(3) interfaced to an encoder value counter(23) so as to provide position information of the flat plate; a laser(1) for radiating laser beams to the central line of an inclined plane of the flat plate, and which is equipped with a cylindrical lens(2) for forming a stripe pattern from the laser beam; a CCD camera(10) equipped with an optical bandpass filter(12) and which photographs only the stripe pattern formed by the laser; an image processing and acquiring unit(20) connected to the CCD camera; and a calibration unit(21) for performing calibration by analyzing the image output from the image processing and acquiring unit and extracting height data of the flat plate corresponding to each coordinate point.
