The car locating machine (2) for a motor vehicle park is located adjacent to the parking place (1) and when a ticket is inserted into it, prints or stamps the number of the parking position used onto the ticket. The position data can be stamped onto a preset area of the ticket which can be provided with a surface to receive a stamp.
