PURPOSE: A hot and cold air generator using metal foam and a thermoelectric element is provided to discharge hot air and chilled air more efficiently and abundantly. CONSTITUTION: A main body(1) has an outlet(2), a control part(3), an inlet(4) and a water drip pan(5) formed on a front side successively from an upper portion thereof. Outlets and inlets(7) are formed on upper portions and lower portions of both side surfaces of the main body, respectively. An outlet(8) is formed on an upper portion of a rear side of the main body evenly with the outlets(2) formed on the side surfaces of the main body. A plurality of thermoelectric elements(9,9') are formed on a middle of an inside of the main body to be separated by heat insulators(10) so as to divide the inside of the main body into a front part and a rear part. Heat sinks(12,12') with a plurality of radiating fins formed thereon are formed close to both of front sides of the thermoelectric elements. Metal foams(13,13') are filled in the inside of the main body on which the heat sinks are formed. The outlets(8) are divided by partitions(14,14') formed on an upper portion of the inside of the main body. Air blowing fans(15,15') are installed on lower portions of the partitions to contact with the metal foams, respectively.
