<p>An elongated medical clip applying device (10) having a hand holdable housing (12) at a proximal end thereof and a barrel clip-dispenser (14) at a distal end thereof is arranged for dispensing squeezable clips (20) onto a mammalian tissue. The device (10) includes a hollow inner sleeve arranged within the housing (12). The sleeve (18) has a proximal end for receiving a clip feeder cartridge (20) therein. A proximal bearing (50) is slidably disposed about a proximal circumference of the inner sleeve (18). A trigger lever (26) is attached to the housing (12), the trigger lever (26) having a linkage bar (52) thereon connected to a finger (36) for moving the proximal bearing (50) proximally and distally. A lock mechanism (72) is arranged in the sleeve (15) to deny a clip feeder cartridge (20) entry into the sleeve (18) when the proximal bearing (50) is adjacent the lock mechanism (72).</p> |
