ANTITUMOR AGENTS AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Antitumor agents containing, as the active ingredient, a metal porphyrin derivative having a hemoxygenase activity and bonded to an amphipathic or water−soluble polymer (in particular, Zn−protoporphyrin (Zn−PP) bonded to polyethylene glycol). Because of being bonded to an amphipathic or water−soluble polymer such as polyethylene glycol, the active ingredient can be administered by intravenous injection and can exert a remarkable antitumor effect owing to tumor−selective delivery.
