A strain detector (10) applicable to elastic bodies such as rubber and rotating bodies such as a tire, comprising an LC oscillator (17) and a receiving circuit (18) for receiving AC signal waves generated by the LC oscillator (17), the LC oscillator (17) further comprising a capacitor (14) having a conductor (12a), a dielectric (13), and a conductor (12b) of a composite material (11), a coil (15), and an amplifying circuit (16), wherein the LC oscillator (17) generates an AC with a frequency according to the capacitance of the capacitor (14) and detects the strain of the dielectric (13) of the composite material (11) by a variation in frequency of the AC signal waves received by the receiving circuit (18).
