FLUORESCENT SUBSTANCE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING FLUORESCENT SUBSTANCE LAYER AND FLUORESCENT DISPLAY TUBE

PURPOSE: To provide a fluorescent substance emitting light in a visible region having good emission characteristics without using cadmium. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent display tube is prepared by adding and mixing a CaS: Eu, Ce fluorescent substance with 1% of a B2O3 powder and 10% of In2O3, pasting the resultant mixture with a vehicle containing an organic binder and using the obtained paste. The resultant fluorescent display tube is actually driven to emit light and life characteristics and initial luminance are evaluated. The residual ratio of the luminance after 1,000 hr is 80% in Example 1 in contrast with 50% in Comparative Example. The initial luminance is about 200 luminance in the Example in contrast with 100 luminance in the Comparative Example without adding the B2O3 in red light emission.
