A metal body identifying device (10) capable of identifying a metal body even when there is a variation the thickness of a treated metal surface, comprising an oscillator (20) having a coil (21), an extraction part (30) for extracting an output from the oscillator (20) as at least two parameters when the identified metal body is moved relative to the coil (21), a correlation storage part (40) for storing the correlation between the parameters of the metal body beforehand, and a metal body identifying part (50) for identifying the metal body by judging whether the parameters extracted by the extraction part (30) are applicable or not to the correlation stored in the correlation storage part (40).
