PURPOSE: A channel unit accepting a plural type E&M(Ear and Mouth) signaling system and a method for controlling the same are provided to allow one unit to accept a plurality of signaling systems used in 2w E&M and 4w E&M using the E&M signaling system among many channel cards of an FLC(Fiber Loop Carrier) equipment. CONSTITUTION: An E-signal connection terminal is connected to an E-line of an exchange, and an M-signal connection terminal is connected to an M-line of the exchange. In the E-signal connection terminal, a type selection part(420) selects each type of an E&M signaling system using multiple switching elements. And an office line connection part(430) accepts E-1 signals to output on/off hook signal for an office line according to output of the type selection part(420). In the type selection part(420), a switching element 1(421) switches a connection state between a system ground(SG) and the office line connection part(430). And a switching element 2(422) switches connection state between a node and a ground. In the office line connection part(430), a transistor(431) accepts E-1 signals with a base terminal and accepts outputs of the type selection part(420) with an emitter terminal, to perform a switching operation. And a diode(432) delivers outputs of the transistor(431) to the E-line.
