The invention relates to a device for limiting torque to be transferred, comprising A) at least two transfer elements (3; 4) which are coaxially arranged in relation to a longitudinal axis (5); B) a coaxially arranged housing (10) in which the transfer elements (3; 4) can be received and in which at least one of the transfer elements (3; 4) is rotatably positioned about the longitudinal axis (5); C) elastic means (7); and D) tensioning mea ns (6) which enable the elastic means (7) to be pre-stressed to a desired pre- stressing force; E) the transfer elements (3; 4) being provided with additional teeth (11; 12) which can be engaged with each other, and can be pressed against each other by the elastic means (7). The maximum transferabl e torque can thus be limited by the pre-stressing force of the elastic means ( 7).
