PURPOSE: To enable a 3rd person to easily judge the operation state of an electronic device even in its power-saving state. CONSTITUTION: A personal computer main-body part is equipped with a switch 8, a lamp 9 indicating its state, a switch 6 for placing the personal computer main-body part in the power-saving state, and a lamp 7 indicating that the personal computer main-body part is in the power-saving state. The power- saving state means a standby state and shows that the personal computer main- body part is in operation in a broad sense. A display part 2 is equipped with a switch 10 for turning on and off the power source of the display part, a lamp 11 indicating the operation state of the display part, and a lamp 12. The lamp 11 has two kinds of illumination states of ON1 and ON2 and in the state of ON1, a picture showing the operation state of the personal computer main- body part is displayed. In the power-saving state of ONE, the display part displays no picture even during the operation of the personal computer main- body part. The lamp 12 is provided to the frame of the display and displays the operation state of the personal computer main-body part even in the power- saving state.
