摘要 PURPOSE: A structure for cooling a plunger of a glass forming mold is provided to effectively cool the corners of the plunger without causing a temperature anomaly through the use of the thermal insulation chamber. CONSTITUTION: A structure comprises a lower mold; a plunger(3) for pressing the gob applied to the lower mold, and which has a cooling water passage(5) formed toward a corner(A) of the plunger; and a thermal insulation chamber(10) formed along the circumference of the cooling water passage of the plunger, in such a manner that an air insulation layer is formed along the circumference of an end of the cooling water passage, and the thermal insulation chamber is concentric with the cooling water passage. The thermal insulation chamber effectively cuts off the cooling air flowing along the cooling water passage, thus effectively cooling the corner of the plunger without causing a temperature anomaly.
