The invention relates to a safety device (1) for preventing the incorrect operation of a connecting rod fitting (2) of a connecting rod (3) that can be displaced into at least two operating positions along a window or door casement. Said device consists of a locking lever (7), which is pivotally mounted in the groove (11) that houses the fitting, said lever having a stop arm (9), which is located in the vicinity of the inner edge (5) of the casement overlap (6) and extends approximately parallel to the latter. The stop arm engages in the locking plate (8) of the connecting rod fitting (2) in the direction of the groove base (10) and acting as a locking arm (12) co-operates with the connecting rod (3) in a blocking manner in each open position of the window or door casement, using one of at least two locking sections (13) located one behind the other in said connecting rod (3). The locking lever (7) runs against the wall of the groove (11) that houses the fitting and is thus U-shaped in said groove (11) and at its open end has a limb 14, which encompasses the outer edge of the locking plate (8), forming the shape of a C (16), thus fixing the safety device (1) for preventing incorrect operation to the connecting rod fitting (2). |
