PURPOSE: An EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system is provided to improve an endurance of an EGR valve by removing particles contained in combustion gas, which is recirculated into an intake system. CONSTITUTION: An EGR system(5) includes an EGR pipe(6) and an EGR valve(7). The EGR pipe(6) connects an exhaust pipe(3) to an intake pipe(4). A metal plate(8) and a grounding metal plate(9) are closely attached to an inner wall of the EGR pipe(6) so as to allow exhaust gas to pass a space formed between the plates(8,9). High voltage is applied to the metal plate(8) and the grounding metal plate(9). A particles return line(11) is connected between the metal plate(8) and the grounding metal plate(9). The other end of the particles return line(11) is communicated with a combustion chamber(12).
