USE OF TERPENES AND DERIVATIVES AS POTENTIATORS OF ANTITUMORAGENTS IN THE TREATMENT OF CANCERS

The present invention relates the employment of terpenes including mono-, di -, sesqui-, triterpene and derivatives as potentiators of various antitumor agents in th e treatment of cancers. Terpenes and derivatives are used in combination with antitumor agents to increase their antitumor activity in vitro and in vivo. Using of terpenes and/or derivatives showed to increase the transport across the plasma membrane of mammalian cells and/or to decrease the intracellular glutathione which is implicated in the detoxification of vario us xenobiotics including antitumor agents and in the resistance of tumors.
