PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate the dimensional measurement of an elevator and to simplify the structure. SOLUTION: The device is composed of a laser range finder 11 which measures the distance by projecting laser light 4, a rotating mirror 13b which horizontally scans the optical axis of the laser light 4 projected by the laser range finder 11, and a means for changing direction of laser light 14 which receives the laser light 4 scanned and rotated horizontally and projects it in the vertical direction. Thereby, the horizontal and vertical distances in an elevator shaft can be automatically obtained using one laser range finder 11.
