PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pressure sensitive adhesive composition good in polymerization stability even under a severe condition such as polymerization of adhesive with high solid content and having good adhesiveness to a substance hard to be adhered such as a polyolefin, a dew condensed surface and the like. SOLUTION: In the pressure sensitive adhesive composition obtained by polymerizing anα,β-ethylenically unsaturated monomer in an emulsion, a compound expressed by general formula: CH2 =CH-CH2 -O-CH2 -CH(CH3 (CH2 )n )-O(CH2 CH2 O)m -SO3 NH4 (wherein n=7-17; m=2-50) is used as a reaction type emulsifier in the emulsion polymerization to obtain the pressure sensitive adhesive composition.
