PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat transfer member 1 having a surface coated with carbon fibers 3 in which the density of carbon fibers being fixed to the surface of the heat transfer member is increased furthermore. SOLUTION: The heat transfer member coated with carbon fibers comprises a heat transfer member 1 of metal, or the like, growth cores 2 of the synthetic catalyst of carbon fiber carried on the surface of the heat transfer member 1, and carbon fibers 3 synthesized to extend outward of the heat transfer member 1 from the growth cores 2.
