PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device for working machinery, capable of stopping an engine idle operation and restarting the engine easily without operating a key switch. SOLUTION: A control means 12 stops an idle operation of an engine 11 mounted on working machinery or restarts the engine 11. When the working machinery is left to stand idle for a predetermined period of time or longer, or an operator of the working machinery performs a one-touch operation of a one-touch operating button-type switch 25 of a control lever 24, the control means 12 brings the engine 11 being operated in an idle operation to an automatic stop. The control means 12 keeps operating the engine 11, if at least one of the following is true at this time; specifically, an air conditioner 22 is being run, the voltage of a battery 13 is a predetermined level or less, or a power consumption of the entire working machinery is a predetermined value or more. Further, the control means 12 starts a starter motor 15 of the engine 11 when the control lever is operated.
