905,023. Combine harvesters. CLAAS, W. May 16, 1961 [May 17, 1960], No. 17890/61. Class 6(3). In a combine-harvester, of the kind wherein guide members, such as 15, influence the passage of the straw over the shaker 11 according to the inclination of the machine to the horizontal, the guide-members 15 are movable against the straw to prevent undue accumulation thereof at one end or on one side of the shaker. As shown, the members 15 each comprise a grid secured to a spindle 14 which is cranked, externally of the harvester-body 10 and connected by an adjustable link 18 to a pendulum 19 pivoted on a bracket 21. The connection 22 is adjustable along the crank 17 so that the pendulum 19 is sensitive to longitudinal tilt only or to both lateral and longitudinal tilt, Fig. 3 (not shown). Modifications are mentioned in which the spindles 14 are driven by electric motors controlled by mercury switches, and in which a plurality of members 15 are arranged along each side of the shaker. The guides may, alternatively, be mounted on parallelogram linkwork. |
