MULTI-WAVELENGTH DEMULTIPLEXING OPTICAL DEVICE AND WAVELENGTH MULTIPLEXED LIGHT TRANSMISSION MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-wavelength demultiplexing optical device which is made small-sized and sufficiently demultiplexes a wavelength multiplexed optical signal. SOLUTION: The wavelength multiplexed optical signal transmitted through an optical fiber 10 passes a taper waveguide 28 and a slab waveguide 20 and is made incident on a plane diffraction grating 16. Diffracted rays are converged on positions different by wavelengths. Demultiplexed and converged rays are made incident on a two-dimensional taper waveguide array 30 and are detected by a photodetector array 60.
