DIPPING CYLINDRICAL BODY FOR MOLTEN BATH AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dipping cylindrical body for a molten bath and its manufacturing method capable of suppressing generation of a crack or fracture of a protective sleeve or a gap between the protective sleeve and a cermet protecting tube to be generated when dipped into the molten bath, by reducing the difference of a thermal expansion coefficient between the protective sleeve and the cermet protecting tube. SOLUTION: In this dipping cylindrical body 10 for the molten bath wherein the protective sleeve 15 comprising a refractory material is provided on the circumference of the cermet protecting tube 13 to be dipped into the molten bath 14, the protective sleeve 15 comprises a molded component of a carbon- including refractory. This manufacturing method has a process for pressure- molding a molding material 48 comprising the carbon-including refractory on the circumference of the cermet protecting tube 13, and a process for forming the protective sleeve 15 by calcining the pressure-molded molding material 48, and thereby the protective sleeve 15 integrated with the cermet protecting tube 13 is molded.
