<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light sampling waveform observation device capable of measuring the waveform of ultra-high speed signal light to be measured with high sensitivity, high time resolution and high accuracy, by using Raman shifted light of an optical pulse having the narrower pulse width compared with signal light to be measured as sampling pulsed light. SOLUTION: This light sampling waveform observation device for observing a light waveform by sampling signal light P8 to be measured by using a nonlinear optical effect by the optical pulse having the narrower pulse width than that of signal light P8 to be measured is characterized by using Raman shifted light P13 generated from an input optical pulse P5 having the narrower pulse width than that of signal light P8 to be measured as sampling pulsed light P4 for performing light sampling of signal light P8 to be measured.</p> |
