PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by compact configuration with high flexibility of design and to deliver an appropriate and sufficient vibration attenuation performance to the vibration not only at the low frequency area but also at a wide range of high frequency area under a little power consumption. SOLUTION: A MR fluid flow passage 9 having a crank-like section in which MR fluid 8 is hermetically held by vertical flow passage parts 9A and 9B and in the horizontal flow passage part 9C, is formed between a piston-like member 6 relativity displaceable in the exciting direction in accordance with elastic deformation of an elasticity body 5 and a cylinder-like member 7. By forming a magnetic path crossing the horizontal fluid passage 9c in the flow passage 9, an electromagnet 10 capable of controlling strength of a magnetic field to change viscosity of the MR fluid 8 is fixed and supported on the piston-like member 6 side.
