PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply obtain a semi-transmission/reflection type liquid crystal display device exhibiting excellent color reproducibility. SOLUTION: This semi-transmission/reflection type liquid crystal display is constituted so that a liquid crystal layer is interposed between a substrate 1 on which a thin film transistor layer, a reflection film and a pixel electrode connected electrically to the transistor layer are layered and another substrate 2 opposite to the substrate 1 and having a transparent electrode film, a reflection film-removed part is arranged in a pixel region of the reflection film and a color filter layer having 20-70:100 FT1:FT2 ratio (wherein FT1 is the film thickness of the reflection film-opposite part of a color filter; FT2 is the film thickness of the reflection film-removed part) is arranged below the pixel electrode of the substrate 1 or below the transparent electrode film of the substrate 2.
